A coworker of mine just opened his wallet for a loaded civic hatch. High gloss black everything on white, even the wheels. Tint job doesn’t really look legal. Anyway, easily looks like he paid $30k. But hey, if that makes you happy...

I like civics but I don’t think they are really worth what they are going for, a 17k $$$ manual civic is perfect, but paying over 22 for a civic? Especially one that isn’t an si? Hell no

It bothers me more how obvious it is, like it’s just a single chunk of plastic with blanks for sensors, it really makes a high end car look like a 1996 civic dx with a body kit

I just watched this video 15 minutes ago.
He isn’t kidding, it is unbelievably quiet.

A large chunk of the grille on my ST is blanked out like this as well (mostly to cover the crash bar). I’m pretty sure the grille opening is the same size as the base model...

I really dislike them. I did not like the 3rd gen either. The sedan version was cool, but the hatch was bad. The 4th gens are tolerable I guess.

Sadly, all cars look like that nowadays.

That always bothers me, but then again fake vents have become the norm on most 2006+ cars, the 90s really did minimalist grilles and that kind of followed into the early 2000s but these days fake grilles are considered appropriate.

No 96 DX will ever look that bad. I mean this one looks pretty bad, but not like the new one.

Out of curiosity do you think any car in that segment is worth $22k?

*sharpens axe*

No, unless it’s the performance versions (st, rs, GTI, r, si ect.) No matter what it’s a compact full of plastic interior bits and is usually down on tech compared to a full size, so no I do not think I would pay more than 22k for a compact

You know you hate the faux grilles you just won’t accept the truth

Just wait 10 years until they’re all unevenly faded into mismatched shades of gray!

Of course I hate them. I’ve said many times I hate the base Civic. But all the bashing the Type R gets around here makes me want one that much more. You think you see too many Juke pics, just wait...
